APA Annual Meeting and EWTA Info Fair Registration Website Coming Soon |
The 2023 APA Annual Meeting and EWTA Info Fair will be held in sunny Palm Desert, California at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa from Oct. 14-17, 2023.
A new Annual Meeting information and registration website is in development and will be launched in April. The site will provide meeting and event details and Info Fair exhibit and sponsorship information as well as sign-up opportunities. Full details will be sent to APA and EWTA members in April. |
Housing Starts Begin the Year on a Down Note |

| In January, housing starts in the U.S. fell to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.31 million units. Both single-family and multifamily starts were down compared to December 2022. Builder sentiment improved in February, but at a reading of 45, that is still consistent with a challenging market. Housing starts in Canada fell to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 215,365. The decline was heavily concentrated in Ontario. Perhaps the more critical pieces of data were related to the U.S. economy. Key indicators like employment, retail sales and manufacturing output bounced back in January. Both the consumer price and producer price index measures showed that ringing inflation out of the economy may take longer than thought by many analysts. This means that policymakers will not veer from the path of tightening monetary policy through at least the first half of 2023. |
